If, like many people around the world this past year, you are getting a little bored of being stuck at home, there are many things you can do.
One of the main things that most of us are missing out on is travel. If you tend to generally go travelling somewhere at least once or even twice a year, then you might well be starting to feel the itch to do so again. In this post, we are going to take a look at some of the ways you can bring world culture into your home, and so get the feeling of being immersed in another culture, even if only for a few hours. It might not be travel, but it’s something.
Watch Foreign Films
If you love to watch movies, this is a great opportunity to try and get into foreign cultures in your home in a big way. Whether there are some that you already know and love, and you’re happy to watch again, or whether you want to take a look at some new options that might have come out in recent years, either way you are going to be able to feel yourself getting into foreign and world culture in this way in a big way. Draw up a list of movies to watch and space them out over a few weeks for maximum effect. You could even have French one week, Indian the next, and so on, to really make the most of this idea.
Cook Different Cuisines
For most of us, a big part of traveling the world is getting to eat a huge variety of different foods from different places. If that is true for you, then there are a lot of things that you are going to want to consider cooking in your home to try and recreate that sense of being somewhere exotic with your family. Whether you cook some well-loved Chinese recipes, or you want to try your hand at a few classic Italian dishes, you can be sure that this will get everyone in your home much more excited to be spending lots of time in the family home. Plus, you can carry those new meals with you through life, so they are always worth learning.
