How I Spent #InternationalWomensDay with @DorsettLondon #IWD2017 @womensday

The most luxurious and empowering way to spend International Womens Day

As I write this, I feel overcome with emotion. The last few weeks have been some what of an emotional rollercoaster for me, personally but the greatest thing to come out of this difficult period was discovering how many amazing women I actually know and have around me. So to celebrate International Women’s Day was extremely high on my priority list.

I was extremely lucky to be offered the chance to spend International Women’s Day 2017, surrounded by even more women, at one of the most exquisite London hotels, Dorsett Shepherds Bush.

For this one night of luxury, I asked my dear friend Stacy-Jayne to join me in toasting to all the great women we know in opulent style.

On arriving to the hotel, I was swiftly greeted by the Dorsett Shephard’s Bush’s General Manager who introduced me to the hotel and my gorgeous room which was so large and decorated beautifully in lashings of gold and white.

The Dorsett
Shepherds Bush is located, in the heart of vibrant West London on Shepherds
Bush Green, in a Grade II listed building effortlessly which combines copious
amounts of luxury, character and charm. The stylish hotel boasts 317 Chinese
inspired bedrooms and suites and offers a choice of two sumptuous restaurants –
Pictures and Shikumen, Dorsett Lounge, the opulent Adeela Crown Aesthetic Spa
for indulgent treatments, a 24-hour fitness centre and a distinctive bar, Jin.

Soon after unpacking my overnight bags and settling into the comfort of this extraordinarily designed room, complete with it’s own expresso machine, no less, my guest and I dined with other lifestyle bloggers in the lobby, celebrating the evening and achievements of not only other women but also our own, over countless glasses of champagne.

The Dorsett Shepherds
Bush’s spectacular golden atrium was the perfect backdrop for the
networking evening, complete with a pianist and gorgeous views of the bar,
lobby and what seemed like a never-ending floor case.

Finally, dinner time was eagerly upon us, so Stacy-Jayne & I, dined in the Dorsett’s Dorsett Lounge restaurant, which was so homely and comforting, I’d happily return for professional meetings, catch ups with the girlfriends who live in West London and family brunches.

The food, menu and staff were impeccable as was every part of the service. We each tried different starters, mains and desserts from the concise British menu, but I was spoiled with my choice of Beetroot & Goats Curd Starter as well as the Salmon Main, which packed a pleasant punch.

In the morning, I was surprised to see the carefully curated service for International Women’s Day, was still on rotation. The hotel kindly sent a member of staff to not only deliver an amazingly beautiful and filling breakfast spread, but also a courtesy wake up call.

To say, this was probably one of my best overnight staycation’s within the city is a terrible understatement. I relish the thought of being able to dine and enjoy the luxuries of staying overnight at The Dorsett Shephard’s Bush. I’ll definitely take the suite next time too!

For those who are unaware of why we celebrate women on this day, here’s a little background. International Women’s Day celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women. Although progress has slowed in many places across the world, global action is needed to accelerate gender parity.

In 2016 leaders across the world pledged to take action as champions of gender parity – not only for International Women’s Day, but for every day. Groups and individuals also pledged their support.

In 2017, if leaders are seeking to declare their bold action via the IWD website and show their support for women’s advancement, please see details.

Where & how will you celebrate International Womens Day next year?
