Having travelled so much this year on my #CPtakes12trips Challenge (although not as far as I would have liked), nothing beats the ease of relaxing somewhere a little closer to home, without actually being at home. This my friends is called a #Staycation and I am very much a fan of these!
And it seems I’m not the only one.
Thestagcompany.com recently did a survey and found that an impressive 63% of British people stated that post – brexit, they would now probably consider a staycation rather than heading abroad due to the weakness of the pound.
So in true East London fashion, I really didn’t stray very far at all on my recent staycation. In fact, I was simply a 30min max bus ride away from my house, when I stayed at The Ibis City Hotel, Shoreditch last week Thursday, to celebrate #IbisLates opening gig which saw a number of truly talented musicians take the hotel’s lobby stage to belt out some seriously good tunes.
Taking to the stage were up and coming musicians and Roundhouse Resident Artists Estee Blu, Jay Johnson, Soma and Nikita Chauhan, courtesy of the hotel groups partnership with the Roundhouse. This live gig was just the start of the exclusive ‘Ibis Lates’ nightly sessions, due to take place in Ibis Hotels throughout the country.
Tickets to the next few shows will be available to win on Facebook.
