Top 10 Reasons To Visit Latin America

Whilst I definitely don’t need to list my ‘Top 10 Reasons’ for wanting to visit Latin America, I’m sure, as fans of my Travel posts, that you’d love to hear why, right?

Visiting the region of the globe, which is Latin America has always been a
dream of mine, for many years now! I’ve constantly heard such amazing things about Latin American countries (from lots friends whom are descendants of Latin America themselves) – from its rich history, culture, nature, people and of course, those incredible scenic views which are just unbeatable! I have always know that one day, I just have to experience these adventures, of which some are only possible in Latin America, for myself.

And this may just be the chance I need! I love
experiencing first hand other cultures and the cultures of local people in the
destinations I travel and today, I discovered that, to celebrate the launch
of their new blog, Next Stop: Latin America LAN and TAM Airlines are offering one blogger the chance to win their dream trip to Latin America. And this could be me guys!

So here are my ‘Top 10 Reasons To Visit Latin America’

1. To experience its ancient ruins and culture

I’ve heard the most impressive ruins in Peru are the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu; best experienced when hiking the Inca TrailBut the Inca ruins are not the only remains of ancient civilizations.  In the north you can find ancient civilizations in the city of Chan Chan, while at the south you can find interesting evidence of ancient cultures at the Lake Titicaca, the city of Puno and at the Nazca Lines.

2. Santuario de las Lajas, Colombia

Another ancient building which is so dramatically beautiful, it speaks for itself as to reasons why you’d want to visit it.

3. The River of Five Colours, Colombia

I’ve never seen anything so beautiful!

4. Hand of the Desert, Atacama, Chile

I have so many man-made Wonders Of the World on my Bucket List but this structure has endless photo opps!

5. The Beaches & Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Just once with my own eyes is a must! Pleeeease!

6. Tayrona National Park

The Tayrona National Park is an eco-lovers dream and will

definitely fill my heart to the brim too! Its untouched beaches

surrounded by rainforests, hundreds of species of rare

animals, and lush tropical landscapes are a dream! I’ve got to

stay in the elevated Eco-Cabana cabins, if I go!

6. Handcrafts & Culture

Apparently you can find Peruvian history, culture, art, and their exceptional home taught  skills all in their handcraft which can be found in every corner of the country. Absolutely delightful!

7. People & Culture

Festivals is a big part of Latin American culture and I know how to shake my hips really well so will fit in perfectly (I believe…this is not fact!)

8. Atacama Desert, Chile

Again, I really cannot resist a great photo opportunity, especially not one like this! I mean, when will I ever stumble across anything remotely like this in London or the whole of the UK. One guess people! Never!

9. Raquira, Colombia

How gorgeous are the buildings? I’d love to take some shots of everyday life here and a few selfies! I also think this market is where I’ll feel most at home, plus good shopping bargain never ever hurt!

10. Food

We cannot survive without it! Plus its obligatory to enjoy the cuisines abroad! Churrasco aka grilled meat, Empanadas & a lot of chilli are high up on my pecking list!

Can you imagine me + a waist strapped GoPro discovering Latin American inspirations, hidden gems and secrets, learning conversational language, hiking, walking, tours, history, religion, tasting and indulging in local cuisine, living like a local and volu-tourism? I know! Me too! My excitement and interest in doing all of the above has taken me many places around the globe but not yet to the beauty which is Latin America. So let’s hope together and faith that this will be me!
