I’d like to start this post of with a huge thank you to Navabi!
When it comes to being named a Style Blogger/ Influencer, I can’t emphasise enough how much I don’t regard myself as such and even if I did (sometimes its just easier to use than explaining myself) I wouldn’t ever let it go to my head. Blogging has always been an outlet for me since creating ChloePierre.com, formerly known as Clo Clo’s Closet back in 2009 when I was a slimmer yet still curvy, fashion PR waiting to break the scene and fulfill my dreams. I can tell you that because I have worked with many a blogger who simply has a blog for the ‘perks’ and charges stupid amounts for features which really makes it not so much of a fun place anymore. That my dears is just crap! I do this because I love it, I get to share some of my favourite occasions, clothes and food with you all which is my main goal! Plus it has always been a great way for me to network, make new friends and also served as a perfect ice breaker. Going back to making new friends, that’s just what I did a few weeks ago when I was invited down to the stunning WGSN offices in Piccadilly to get an exclusive peek at what was the first ever Navabi Collection.
Navabi is a German based fashion e-commerce site which began its fashion revolution in 2008 providing a much needed premium clothing site for plus sized women. The Navabi Collection is the first for the Navabi site and credits itself on celebrating feminine curves whilst characterised by luxury fabrics, creative cutting and sensual draing. The Navabi Collection is an aethestic which aims to redefine today’s curvesome, plus size woman.
At the event, which was literally one of the best fashion events I have ever been to (hands down!) let alone plus size events I have ever been too! Navabi did extremely well with not picking the usual ‘top blogger’ faces which happens far too often and can often make events dull & pretentious and I finally got to meet some of the bloggers I’ve been eager to meet for a while like the lovely Hollie, Em, Becky and also some new faces including my new blogging twin, Chloe & Syreeta – a Plus Size Fashion Designer who you really need to look out for. Her work is amazing, just like her personality and sweetness.
I loved the diversity in how the event was split up too! I arrived to a room full of smiling (yet unusually) quiet bloggers enjoying light canapes and beverages to then be led into a conference room for a wonderfully informal introduction of the event and the collection by the stylish Chief Merchant at Navabi, Miriam Lahage who then introduced us to my new girl crush – WGSN’s Sara McCorquodale social media extraordinare, who gave us a run-through of AW15 & SS15 trend forecasted by WGSN. If you didnt alredy know, WGSN is a leading fashion & design forecasting service which provided me much assisatance in my early PR & blogging days. Word of warning fashion lovers, this 70’s revival fashion we’ve got at the moment isnt going to shift for some while so get purchasing/ making some outfits with bell sleeves. These are my favourite part of the trend along with off the shoulder tops, dresses and jumpsuits.
Next, we were guided through the new Navabi Collection by Navabi designer Christine Checinska, which is available here now! FYI The excitement you can see in the images below is 100% real! After the Navabi team told us Bloggers we could try on whatever we wanted and put together some looks we were all thrilled.
Em, Becky, Syreeta and I took it one step further with an impromptu photo shoot and runway show which was too funny for words. We had a blast!
I absolutely loved every piece of this collection and would happily do a major swap with my current wardrobe just so I can have every piece of this collection. What I loved most was the gorgeous use of fabrics and the varied colour plaette which from someone who tends to wear a lot of black clothing, is pretty impressive. Each piece can be worn with something else in your wardrobe guaranteed! But most importantly, each piece is easy to wear and comfortable. I would take that over flattering anyday (unfortunately).
Unfortunately I don’t have every piece of the collection but I thought I’d share with you some (rather interesting) content which will allow you to get a real insight to the collection, see it up close, how I styled this coat and the matching culottes in under 10 minutes but mainly, how much fun I had wearing it which you can experience too!
All coats shown above are from The Navabi Collection
This was certainly one of my fashion highlights of the year and I would again like to thank ALL of the Navabi team including Miriam, Cheryl Coucher, Christine Checinska & Oliver Winkler for an amazing event, for choosing me as one of the first bloggers to view and test this collection on our very own makeshift runway which was SO much fun! And last but by no means least, for my beautiful flowers! I have a great lasting memory of Navabi in my mind now and cannot wait to share future collections with my readers.
