Some weeks ago, on a Friday, my friend’s and I were debating where to hang out for the evening. Of course, I was given the title of Decision Maker as I love discovering new hot spots and places friendly enough to chill out in – sometimes the actual problem is getting your friends to the venue!
Camden has always been a favourite place for me in terms of areas to party and meet friends in – I have plenty of fond memories trawling Camden Market before the fire, after school and finding some cute little spots to hangout in and then in the last few years I rediscovered my love for Camden and openly welcomed the move from partying on my door step of East London. I recently found out that Proud Camden – yes, the one with the stables – recently renovated and refurbished its famed terrace and turned it into a Secret Garden Bar just in time for the second May Day Bank Holiday. Not to worry if you missed the initial opening because the new Secret Garden Bar shall continue to keep it’s doors open throughout this summer 2015. And I can only imagine this means more deals and exciting offers as time goes on.
Proud Camden’s new Secret Garden Bar is tucked away towards the back of the stables and features a huge lawn, accompanied by a huge and fully serviced bar, jacuzzi, hostesses, shot girls and is covered top to bottom and every inch of wall in rich flora.
Unfortunately the Friday night I visited wasn’t much of a summer’s evening (it was actually pretty chilly) but that was overcome quickly with indoor heaters, great staff – great drinks including a variety of well made cocktails (you have got to order a jug of Pimms – I swear, it’s a never ending jug and tastes delicious!), a tasty tapas selection and a really great crowd. Also worth noting, is that Friday night’s at Proud’s Secret Garden Bar also come with a live singer! It all sounds too good to be true but I do feel you can easily meet new people here as the vibe is super chilled however your privacy doesn’t feel complicated by the other guests either, despite you being seated practically back to back…of course that is if you are early enough to grab a seat/ tables!
Word of warning: If you fancy planning a trip down to Proud’s Secret Garden or if I was to attend again, I’d definitely arrive slightly earlier in the evening… say 7pm just so you don’t miss out on the best seats in the house or the scrumptious Mediterranean which can sell out fast! Proud also have some sweet Birthday deals should you be interested in having your birthday there: Free club table for 10 people or more + round of shot OR Free stable for 20 people or more + round of shot (club offers are available on weekdays only)
Reservations can be made here!
If you are thinking of heading over to Proud’s NEW Secret Garden Bar or if you’ve already taken the plunge, let me know your thoughts on the edgy spot below!
