Yesterday evening ahead of my travels to watch Frank Ocean tear down the roof of Brixton Academy with his oh so sensually, calming voice, I was invited to preview Urban Decay’s AW13 collection held at Leicester Square’s beautiful W Hotel which I love visiting.
The event which allowed me to mingle with other great beauty bloggers including Perfectly Polished and Tales Of A Pale Face was jammed pack with Urban Decay treats including Love Hearts Lipstick treats, Lip shaped Chocolate Cake Pops, a photobooth, Blogger craved canapés such as miniure fish and chips as well as Lipstick application by Urban Decay Make Up Artists. I was seen to by Jessica May who made sure my pout was plumped and ready to see Frank.
Urban Decay which is heavily known for its use of cult favoured colours has updated some of these cult favourites and whilst reforming them to a better standard, slipped it into our AW13 make up bags and routines.
Take the much loved Urban Decay Brow Kit. It now comes in a slightly smaller packaging with two colours to suit many brow colours (although not all) and has nodded to its much loved fan base with not one or two brushes but three application tools to ensure your brows are in tip top condition, permanently.
I completely fell in love with Urban Decay’s new Primer with highlighting effects and a tint (perfect for all shades)and B6 Spray which is perfect for hot weather, much like what we are experiencing in London at present.
The B6 is not only a refreshing day spray I am told, but it also helps combat oil shows and helps reduce redness and blotching.
Definitely my kind of beauty product!
I will be reviewing the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (above) so stay tuned!
My other must have from the new AW13 collection has to be the gorgeous ‘Streak’ lipstick (above) which although a bright coral shade, spreads very lightly on the lips so you can build it up to the heights of your choice. After a little persuasion the beauty blogger in me gave in to the use of wearing lip pencils which I have found terribly old fashioned and tacky, that is until I came across UD’s Naked 2 lip pencil which highlights the lip ahead of using a sheer lipstick like the new Urban Decay ‘Streak’
I personally cannot wait to try the new Naked Skin defining powder which comes in a nice range of colours to suit many, although not all. I plan to use in Naked Dark as Naked Medium Dark seems a little too light for my current (slightly tanned complexion.)
I promise to update you all on this over the next few weeks.
If you are tempted to try any of the new Urban Decay AW13 collection head down to stores as of 2013.
If you have used any of Urban Decay’s products including the opens mentioned above, I’d love to know your thoughts on this new collection and what you’d most likely use from AW13 Urban Decay.
