If your anything like me, when getting ready for a night out or special occasion attire, like my cousin’s wedding I have coming up in less than a month, I raid that wardrobe of mine for my legendary stash of little black dresses.
Ladies, don’t listen to Gok! Black will always be in & yes, it is slimming, whoever says different is lying. The LBD has always been a support to me and one can never forget that.
So you can imagine my excitement when I stumbled across the Black Dress HQ website? I was in LBD heaven!
BlackDressHQ originated in October 2011 by Founder Alisha Hermon, a personal stylist who noticed the LBD was used to dress women of all ages, body shapes, styles and personalities. Alisha discovered that no matter the price point, they were hugely affordable given they could last through both the seasons and years. They could be worn to work, for cocktails, to high tea, a dinner party or the opera.
The simple process of changing accessories was all that was required to take an LBD from one fabulous destination to the next. Alisha realised her dream in October through the launch of BlackDressHQ.com, a site dedicated to bringing all those gorgeous LBDs into one place, to create a store where women could shop, without having to traipse the pavement and multitudes of colourful dress racks, to find their sort after little black numbers.
Initially focusing on bringing the edgy designers of New Zealand and Australia to the UK, previously difficult for customers to obtain, brands like Cybele, Lonely Hearts and Ginger & Smart jumped on board first, with a number of UK designers following soon after including Twenty8Twelve and Preen. Now BlackDressHQ stock over 12 international designer items online. The Spring Summer’12 collections saw designers more than double on the site with some of my favourite being Costume National & Rebecca Taylor…
