NEW: Rush Hair x Marks and Spencer

Who doesn't love beautiful hair?
Nothing quite says 'New Year, New You' to me than a trip to my favourite hairdressers, or the purchase of a brand new cosmetics line in. Wouldn't you agree?

Last month, I was treated to a luscious preview of the brand new Rush Salon Styling Collection - a collaborative line of affordable hair styling products from one of Britain's favourite department stores and the UK's award winning salon Rush, in it's uber stylish Mayfair branch, just off Piccadilly, London. Being such a fan of hair care I love finding products which are not only multi-task but also work with a number of hair textures. This is extremely important when you have a multicultural circle of friends and family like I do.
For a little more background into the range, The Rush Salon Styling Collection was created by Rush's award winning Artistic Team and designed to give you the styling tools needed to recreate a salon look at home - something I have never really been too good at achieving.

The styling collection, whose prices range from £5 - £9.50, promises advanced technologies to give your hair structure as well as movement and bounce which can often be difficult to create at home especially if you have thick/ mixed/ coarse/afro hair or even if you are experiencing bad weather in your local area!
The nine product strong, Rush Salon Styling Collection features a Blow Dry Lotion, flexible hold hairspray, root lifting Gel, Serum, Multi Use Oil and a surprisingly favourite product of mine, the Survive and Revive Dry Shampoo to cater for all of your styling needs, whether you are looking to smooth, define, add volume or simply refresh your hair.
At the time of my trip to the preview, my hair was relatively straight however my roots were starting to curl and my hair seemed really limp and in need of a wash - this all changed when I met Dale, a Rush Hair Stylist who although wasn't an Afro hair Specialist immediately understood my hair type and proceeded to show me which products would suit my hair and help me achieve that bed head/ blow out style I constantly strive to achieve - plus no water was needed! Just so you know, all Rush London branches have a designated Afro Hair specialist which I think is marvellous as I am always on the search for inner city salons who aren't afraid of a little curl or typically afro hair!
I was so surprised to test the dry shampoo and found that contrary to my earlier beliefs, this Dry Shampoo didn't leave a white film on my hair (like most other brands do) and really helped uplift and revive my lifeless hair particularly at the roots where moisture lingers at no favour to that blow out look! What I have learnt about The Rush Salon Styling Collection is that it's a no-nonsense line created for the modern woman to help her achieve and  create the hair she really wants - whether sleek or bouncing, wavy or straight,
beautiful hair is available and ready to go whenever you want!

Although I plan to follow this post up later with a tutorial showing you just how to use each product I deem suitable for thick/ mixed/ afro hair, I wanted to leave you with a few images of my completed look, courtesy of The Rush Salon Styling Collection available here now as well as instore at Marks & Spencer nationwide from 15th February 2015!
Stay tuned for more info and let me know your thoughts on the collection below!
